Approximately 12 years ago I had a Salmander ESP 120CPV (I think) pump fitted as part of a new bathroom primarily for a power shower. The pump performed well for about 9 years and then stopped working. I was working out of the UK at the time and my property was let so to a great extent I had to rely on my letting agent. The pump was replaced with a new one (same model). That pump was problematic from the start (it might have had something to do with the installer). The pump was not registered so I did not obtain the extended guarantee. Now less than 3 years after the second pump was installed it is leaking. Salamander provided (free of charge) some seals that were fitted by the original installer. The leak has reduced but still exists and the pump 'hunts'. I have been assured that there are no dripping taps. My letting agent has been in contact with Salamander who apparently said that they would not look at a pump of that age and if it is still leaking then it is best replaced. That doesn't seem very satisfactory to me. Am I being unrealistic in expecting a Salamander pump to last up to to three years? I note that Salamander regulary gets positive comments on this forum, but obviously I am reluctant to purchase another pump if it is not expected to last 3 years. Any comments would be welcome. As would any recommendations regarding a possible alternative make.
