Hi all,

About six months ago every now and then my shower pump would turn it self off, then on again about 10 seconds later - it only did it a couple of times, then continued working.

BUT now - it's doing it all the time - the shower stays on afor about 30 seconds, then goes off for 5-10, then back on for 30 etc etc... Any ideas what this is? Do you think I'll need a new pump?? need to do something as I keep being late for work as baths take so much longer! ;)

Pump: is from Stuart Turner Ltd and is a Showermate 1.4 bar twin

Thanks in advance!

There are a few things it could be due to:

How old is the pump?
What shower valve is it?
How much distance between the bottom of the cold water storage tank and your shower head?

Can you try it with the handset/shower head off?

At a guess I would say it is the reed switch or the PCB.

You need a flow of 0.8 liters per min to activate the pump on either the hot or cold side of the pump.
Simple things to check are the inlets wire mesh filters if you have got a low flow rate.
