Hi All.
Just finished the plumbing for the new shower
I have fitted air vents at the top of the outlets for the hot and cold feeds.
The air vents i fitted where auto bottle air vents.
do i open the air vent at the top and leave it open at all times?
Any advice would be great
Thanks

advice would be to read your pump instructions correctly and get rid of the AAVs.

Thanks for the unhelpfull advice.

I have read the MI and reads,

All up and over pipe work must be vented at the highest point on the outlet of the pump.

So any advice would be great.
Thanks again

The MI said fit them so explain why i should get rid?

Thanks for you help

i do apologise just read properly got mixed up with inlet and outlet my fault  id keep an eye out on AAVs though as in the future they will prob fail and leak and in the loft you prob wont notice.

Glad that got sorted out then  !
If you don’t leave them open, they won’t be automatic  but, as stated, they can leak after time so need to be kept in good condition + you need to run an occasional eye on them. Depending on how/where you’ve located them, you can sometimes form a small catch tray under them.
