Hey,

Complete novice trying to get my head around what I need to change our current electric shower to a gravity fed shower with pump. I've put together a quick illustration of what I would like to do.

I've seen / read a few posts on installing the pump in the loft as we really have the space next to our hwc. My concern is that water will need to be fed from the ground floor to the loft where the pump will be. Is this even possible?

Could someone give me some pointers / advice if this is the correct way to approach and recommend a suitable pump.

I also have read that this may require a no stop essex flange?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

You should go the route of a digital pumped shower.
Aqualisa do some really good ones. These are really popular now and are the way to go for better performance on your shower.

Its only us idiots in the UK whom still use gravity. Nobody else use this system, cos its very poor!!

Also electric showers should be last resort. Theres some fancy ones out like Mira Azora or The new Aqualisa Lumi or Sasi http://www.aqualisa.co.uk/getmedia/...ric-chrome-01.jpg?ext=.jpg&width=702&height=0

Run hot and cold into pump unit, no essex flanges or gravity loops, or distance from shower to tank needed to be taken into consideration just simply push fit hot and cold into it....

You might think well there more expensive?...... not really! when you take into account alot less labour time taken to fit shower, your buying a shower kit with shower pump riser rail etc in one price.

Check'em out!
