A package arrived in the post called a Shower Saint it's a round device which it says is to be inserted between shower outlet and hose. I am not sure about fitting it. My shower is thermostatic and gets it's hot water from a Main 7 boiler. One problem is if we turn down the shower or during the summer when water is warmer it does not use enough water to keep the boiler running. Also noted same problem with my mothers shower which runs from a combi-boiler. Also when the rose has become part blocked it has blown the seals causing on one time the ceiling to come down. I am therefore a little apprehensive of fitting this device even if it does have a 15 year guarantee.

Has anyone else come across these and what do they think?

The Devil`s Disc is better - it slows the flow to 6.66 litres per minute

I note on the parts list for my shower it has a flow regulator and I wonder if there is a problem with fitting two flow regulators?

The Gainsborough Ambassador Concealed has 3 Flow regulators to select from and 3 Thermo cartridge assemblies to select from but since mine came from B&Q I was unaware of this at time of buying. I have not a clue if the existing is yellow, olive or blue or which cartridge is fitted or should be fitted High Pressure Cartridge (Green) or Combi Cartridge (Pink) I would guess.

But now the grip ring has been fitted I hope to have no further problems. The bayonet retaining washer in the Wall outlet chrome has failed twice. Lucky second time I caught it without it causing major damage but first time the ceiling came down as a result of the washer failing and water running into the ceiling space. As a result I am very wary of doing anything which could increase the pressure on the O rings and washers in the wall outlet.

Any thoughts please.
