Hey all
I had the bath replaced with a shower unit a couple of months ago, it included retiling. My main motive was that the Mrs struggles getting in and out of the bath.
Job looked fine, but to be honest i regret having a 3/4 length screen instead of a cubicle as you have to be really careful not to splash water everywhere
Roll forward to a week ago and i noticed a puddle on the floor outside the shower - and it turned out the water was getting underneath the glass shower screen despite it being sealed on both sides.
I let the plumber know, and to be fair to him he sent the mastic guy he uses back who was really pleasant and resealed both sides from scratch, i left it the recommended 24 hours and showered to test the fix.
No puddle this time, but the same area is weeping a bit, i dont understand how it can be hard to seal?
One thing i have noticed is that when showering the water cascades fairly hard off my arm into the shower screen but surely that isnt just me?
Has anyone had any issues like this before? is the answer to get a proper cubicle? All the mastic guy does all day is mastic so i am sure he knows his stuff
Cheers.
