Just wondering ,when fitting a shower screen what is best practise regarding waterproofing the walls which would be tiled, to ensure water doesn't soak into the plaster .Or is it not necessary.
Not necessary, when you fit the screen, the upright support will be screwed into tilled wall, run a bead of silicone sealer on the frame prior to tightening up, that will stop ingress of water to screw holes and beyond!
1. Have the bathroom wall tiled.
2. Mark the shower screen bracket and fit to wall.
3. Remove bracket and apply silicone down the centre of the bracket.
4. Refit the bracket.
5. Fit the shower screen to the wall bracket.
6. Silicone where needed (see instructions)
7. Leave over night.
8. Have a shower in the morning.
