Afternoon all

I’ve used Screwfix’s No Nonsense sanitary sealant in white to seal around a shower tray. However, although as a sealant it performs perfectly adequately, it very quickly absorbs soap scum and starts to look scruffy, which means that it needs replacement every few months ( maybe that’s normal, I don’t know). I diligently squeegee walls and glass panels and dry them off with a towel after every shower, but the problem persists.

I’d be grateful to any forum members who can suggest a brand of sealant that in their experience, performs rather better.

TIA

Liquid soap is worst for scum.
I use bar soap but other family members use liquid soap.
Those shower sprays help and I have a mate with posh shower and he uses washing up liquid and toothbrush once a week to keep it clean.
If it's a busy shower then try those shower sprays and dare I say it.. more regular cleaning

Thanks for that. Is it definitely not the case that there are more expensive sanitary sealants which are less susceptible to staining?

Any decent sanitary sealant should work fine.
Spray with mould spray every couple of months although I do ours every 6 months.
Ours has lasted about 8 years so far

I try to avoid using mould spray because I read somewhere that it can damage silicon, and in any case mould isn’t the issue here. But thanks anyhow.
