In February 2019 I bought and installed Mira Agile EV Chrome effect Thermostatic Sequential mixer shower to replace an identical one - as it was having issues with low pressure water in the house that I moved into. Since then, I have had gas installed - which, as you know, is high pressure. I had that done in March 2020. One gas installer recommended that I contact you to get some additional part for the shower to allow it to deal with the high pressure correctly - but the gas installer who performed the work said this was not necessary.

Now that we are in the winter - I have noticed that the water takes a good while to heat up. I called the plumber out and they inserted the little red restrictor to allow better mixing of the water. However, this is done at the shower head end of the shower and still takes over 5 minutes to heat the shower. Not only that, but the shower squeals when it reaches this temperature.

Yea - just wondering what might be the issue? Does a faulty cartridge mean the delay in heating up? If the cold water pressure was too high, then the shower would never heat up / mix?

Are your cold & hot both at high pressure, or just the cold? What boiler do you have?

Thanks for your repy...It's an ideal logic max combi c30. All the pressures are high, and the upstairs and downstairs taps only take a few seconds to heat up, just the shower takes substantially longer to heat. Am I right or wrong in thinking that if the cartridge in the shower was broken that it wouldn't heat up at all?
