Shower temperature

Hi all,

Am struggling to work out how to make my shower hotter. The entire mechanism is hidden apart from the temperature dial. But when it's on "full", it's only really lukewarm. And with the winter setting in and the cold element of the mix bound to get colder, it's only going to get worse.

I've removed the front from the handle, exposing a screw, which I've removed, expecting to be able to recalibrate the handle. But it appears to do absolutely nothing. The handle still feels firmly attached to the rest of the mechanism. I may need to be a bit tougher with it, but seeing as we rent I'm reticent to push it too much in case I break. Besides, my girlfriend will kill me if she can't have a shower tomorrow.

Any ideas on how best to resolve this will be gratefully received.

Oh, and the four screws around the edge don't appear to be removable.

I've been spending ages googling, trying to find out what model it is, so I can do that. Or at least d/l the manual. Can't work it out for the life of me.

Presumably you're getting hotter water from your kitchen tap than from the mixer valve?
If that's the case the calibration of the valve is most likely wrong and I'd have thought that removing the screw in the middle would allow you to pull the handle off a knurled spline and then recalibrate.

Yeah, hot taps are HOT.

Thanks to Maxsys's suggestion I emailed Pegler. To their credit they emailed me a manual straight back and it appears I was just being too much of a wimp with the handle. Once removing the screw it is meant to come off. I'll just have to give it a proper pull!
