With all the problems we had with leaking grout causing costly ceiling damage (admittedly after 40 years) and a shower retile, what is the definitive, safe solution to use to clean/ maintain tiles and grout?
I keep reading contradictory ways to best do this. Some say use a baking powder solution, some say add vinegar whereas others say avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar). Proprietary scale removers must surely be acidic. I am thinking of protecting the grout mostly, as the tiles themselves are pretty impervious. I realise that limescale is alkaline and (as far as recall my chemistry), only acidity will dissolve it.
