Shower Trap

Son just called with a shower problem - not draining (he is 100 odd miles away).

Have talked him through top access traps and he says it does not appear to have a piece that lifts out though the top

To me it looks as if that bit is missing - any views?

I have not seen one before and there is not enough clearance to remove the cover on the base.

Can anyone tell me who the manufacturer is and if there should be a removable part in the trap?

Yes there is a part in the middle that lifts out for cleaning.Most good plumbing shops will have one in stock or will order one for you. That is the full trap But its not expensive .
