Hi,

Am not an expert so forgive any poor terminology please!

Water is leaking out of the shower enclosure and showing as a damp patch at the bottom of the wall just to the outside of the shower and we've been unable to determine the source. I'm told it may be because the fitter applied sealant to the enclosure frame where it meets the wall on the inside of the shower but I was wondering whether water could be getting through where the thread is showing in the picture. Should the nut actually be turned all the way so that no thread is showing?

Many thanks,
SMM

No it would not result in water escaping from the enclosure. Behind the large circular covers ,that meet the tiled surface ,are the supply pipes . They will come thru holes in the tiles ,and the holes around the pipes should be sealed.
However ,the most likely reason for water getting out of the enclosure is sealant failure .
