Showers are useally 40mm, 50mm if say a long run to soil stack.

If you have a slim line shower tray on the dec and a powerfull shower I would if possable take the 40mm into 50mm as soon as you can all the way back and tapping into the soil stack.
Not always easy but for the best results evn if its a short run.
