shower waste

hi all
i'm getting confused between shower waste and trap systems?

i'm installing a new bathrrom (where one hasnt existed before), and as i've informed BC who will be over to inspect need to get it all correct..

its 3m to the outside wall (streight run) and the drop is the height of a floor joist, 200mm, i'm going to connect up to the primary stack.

are shower waste systems a trap as well? is a waste system just plug hole? do i need to put an old school u bend in beneath the tray, or can i just put in an inline hep waste system?

if someone could explain that would be good

shower wastes are a trap as well but you can also fit a hepvo as well
