shower wont turn off plz help

Please could someone give me advice i have recently moved in to a house and have turned on my shower but now i cannot turn it off. I have tried to turn the dial by removing the face. But unfortunately no luck i have turned the water off by the mains.

Push button on/off for shower, or twist dial?

If its push button then its probably the solenoid valve.
