I am replacing my shower.

The walls are plaster board which as it is already tiled I think I will have to replace all the plaster board with aqua board.

Do i then need to tank it first with bal-WP1 or can i just tile it with the waterproof tile adhesive.

If i need to tank it do you just paint the wp1 on or do i need to do other stuff first.

Hi there,

If your using tilebacker board (cement based) then no real need to tank.

If you replace plasterboard get the waterproof kind and then tank it, either with the liquid you paint on or use Homelux Matting you fix on with tile adheshive.

Just make sure you use powdered addy and not the tubbed stuff.
