Hi - Help. I am building a residential log cabin and need advice for the gaps between logs and timber uprights/ window frames etc.. Do I use the Sikkens first brushing into the gaps and then fill with the mastic .... or do I fill the gaps then use the Sikkens? Very grateful for all opinions and reasons. Thanks

If you were to use silicon first, this could smear on the timber and the Sikkens wouldn't adhere to it. I personally would paint everything first and silicon last.

Thanks for that - I thought it would be that way round but there was a part of me thought the mastic (very expensive with no acetic acid) might not stick to the Sikkens. Thanks again for taking the time.
