I've started using sikkens rubbol primer plus and sikkens Xd on exteriors ,it's a great product to use and looks great ,but I just wanted to check something,although they say you only need one coat of primer plus on bare areas is it worth spot priming then undercoating the whole lot and also this system is ok to use over previously painted timber as long as it is prepared properly ,many thanks

Personally i think its best to spot prime and then full coat. Its fine over previously painted timbers. I find the drying times on the tin need to be adhered to, a second coat of gloss and it really does look the pups nuts, have a look at the front door on my profile thats sikkens XD, but it will wrinkle if you don't give it enough time to dry between coats.
