Can silicone sealants corrode copper? I have seen it turn copper green, so is it just corrosive as it is setting?

Never seen any reaction with silicone sealants and copper, while its setting or not.

Some sealants smell of vinegar (acetic acid ?) so may have a tendency to cause short-term corrosion of copper - or it could be flux residue - most of the agressive ones will cause corrosion
