I have a shower to silicone. Grey where the tiles and tiles meet in the corner. And white at the base were the shower tray meets the tiles. What's the best way of doing this? Id ideally like to do it in one hit. But realise this may not be possible
Hello,
I wouldn't discount using the same grey all over. We had the same discussion and our builder used the same for both and it looks great. Also, any discoloration over the years will be slightly less visible on the grey mastic compared to white one.
I've only done very little mastic application, so I'd let others opine. From an optical perspective I would first do the grey down the corner, and then the white along the shower tray on top. I'd also wait for the grey to cure for a couple of hours, before applying the white on top. You can also let it cure overnight, as long as you don't use the shower in between. And also avoid using soapy water sprays when using the applicator tool on the corner, else the white bead won't stick. As far as I am aware, there is no reason the white mastic will not nicely bond with the grey in the 3 sided corner if the area was kept clean.
