Hello;

Just moved in to a property and found myself living with a Super 90 plus, it looks a tad old. The pressure etc is fine, in the mornings it won't fire up with the shower (between 7.20 - 8 am), however the hot taps run fine and triggers the boiler, and there doesn't seem to be a noticeable (to the eye however) flow change on the the taps on the the times the boiler decides to fire up for the shower or not (I.e. there isn't blatantly obvious pressure drop in the water supply). Since it only happens in the mornings I'm guessing it's a building water pressure related issue (i.e. problem usually clears around 8am). Is there anything I can do to solve this? I have red get a shower head with bigger holes to give more flow so it would trigger the boiler. Is there anything else I can do? Seems a bit petty calling the letting agencies plumber/boiler contractor to come and have a look. Is there a way to change the sensitivity of the trigger? (apologies for wrong terminologies if I used many) or does the boiler need a service etc etc? Heating etc works fine when I tested it.

Many thanks in advance
Oli

A Sime Super is anything but super!

A combi should turn on with anything over about 2 litres per minute. You could measure your shower ( but that may include some cold as well if thermostatic )

But the boiler probably needs a repair!

You could clean the holes in your shower as scale reduces flow.

As a short term solution you could run a hot tap a little while you take a shower.
