Hello all,

I real noob question here but I've looked everywhere for an answer / diagram and I just can't seem to find one...

I've recently moved into a house with a garden office. The office has 12 LED lights recessed into the roof controlled by a single simple switch. I wanted to change this to a dimmer: At the moment (as per the attached image) the brown wires are attached to the Com and L1 terminals.

I thought it would be simple enough to replicate this so bought a 400w single dimmer switch with the same standard terminals (L1, L2, Com)

When I wire the dimmer in the same manner as the switch, all lights will switch on / off but only half will dim... Could someone point me in the direction of what I am doing wrong?

Thank you!

Johnny.

Have you got the Lights Specifications? Are they actually all dimmable?

Winston1 & Chivers67 - thank you: I hadn't even thought about that. That could account for the very random pattern of which ones dim and which ones don't! I'll try and get a couple out of the ceiling!
