HI please could someone help - we are buying a house that has had an extension but it is only single skimmed - what does this mean and what do we have to do to comply to building regs? THanks
You have a mountian to climb to get an old single skin extension to comply with modern Building Regs to create a habitable room.
It may be cheaper to knock it down and start again.
Speak to you local Building Control for advice, alternatively get an architect (or equivalent) to visit the site, one look from an expert may decide how you proceed.
