I have a question about the timbers in the floor, between the insulation boards, that are shown in the photo in post #16 at the top of this page. How did you fix them to the concrete?

I have to do something similar, and in some places my insulation will be 150mm thick (it varies). Screwing through that would be quite a challenge!

Hi, the flooring timbers are not fixed to the concrete. They held in place tightly by the insulation board and just sit freely on the concrete base. The flooring grade chipboard has been screwed into them though, so it is all held together and has provided a very solid floor.

100mm insulation going in between the rafters. (100mm square holes left for ceiling lights)

40mm insulation being placed over the rafters. A wooden prop was used to help hold it in place.

I have used a qualified electrician, the Building Inspector has been here last week and just said, "Good the electrics are in"

I have looked at diagrams and I guess some cables could have been else where. What is annoying, is that I am doing lots of the build myself but thought, I'll pay a professional to get the electrics done properly and get a certificate.
