Hi there, for some reason the curved white pipe under the sink cabinet is constantly dripping water. Water is coming out from the rim of the pipe. It is not loose or anything. What can be done to solve this issue?

Its been roughly like 3 years since we got this installed.

Will the pipe need replacing?

It is causing damage to the inside of the cabinet i.e damp cloth and destroying products. Have attached images to make the issue more clear!

Just check whether it’s from the top nut dripping down or the bottom. Should just need nipping up by hand. If it’s the top one, nip up first and report back if it’s still doing it.

No need to replace the plastic pipes, but the rubber washer that provides the seal will have split or maybe distorted.
Those ribbed nuts just need to be firmly tightened by hand.

Thanks for the info, top nut was slightly loose, had to fasten it anticlockwise, by the looks of it doesn't drip, hopefully stays like this!

I have come to the solution why water keeps dripping. Tightening the nut won't permanently fix it.

The u shape pipe is causing the leaking. There is constant water that is around the rim where both pipes connect. Clearly an overflow of some sort. I have checked, it is securely fitted.

What else can be to solve this?

I ran my finger around and there is water seeping out etc.

Might be the seal dislodged, maybe take apart and remake the joints.
Would you recommend this? I am good at diy stuff but fearful I might cause more damage than good. Do you think its the seal thats worn off? If so would like plumbers tape be sufficient enough?

No, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a seal completely worn, but even then some left. Up to you and how you feel comfortable with it, but they’re not that difficult and I/we’re here should you need assistance.
