Hi Guys,
We bought a new sink and surround about 18 months ago along with a bathroom suite and had it fitted, the sink has one of those Chrome effect plugs that you push down with your finger to close it and then push it again to open it, so there are no leavers, the top of the plug has lost some of the paint (please see picture), so can I remove just the top and replace with a real Chrome or Stainless steel one? I've tried twisting it in both directions, and it doesn't seem to want to go, don't want to twist to hard incase I break it, and I've tried pulling it, again no joy, any thoughts?
I wasn't sure if you needed a special tool? If not I guess it's a complete plug hole unit, or maybe break the old one and use normal plug?

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

it unscrews ,anti clockwise .there are various manufacturers of these " click " wastes ,and they are not likely to be interchangeable parts.
