Sinking sockets flush into wall

Hi, I have a flat in an old building and most of the sockets are surface mounted. I am going to be plastering the walls soon, so thought it would be a good time to sink the sockets into the walls so the sockets are flush against the wall. The building is old, the walls are just brick with plasterboard attached to wood battens. If I cut a hole for the socket in the plasterboard there is enough depth for me to put a dry lining box in. I don't seem to have any damp problems in the flat, however I am thinking if the wires are behind the plasterboard near the brick, would there be more chance of damp/moisture where the wires are and therefore dangerous? Or is this the same with most buildings? Would it be safer to stick to the surface mounted boxes or continue with fitting them flush?

If you have no damp on the brickwork and the depth is deep enough to accommodate a dry lining box then there should be no problem.
Remember safe isolation procedures first!

ok thanks. I checked the walls today, the brick was cold, but couldn't see any signs of damp. Will try fitting the sockets soon.
