Does anyone know what size this valve is?

Which part should I measure?

I'd like to buy a fitting that would let me attach a garden hose to it to flush it out, without taking it to the garden. Too heavy...

Thanks

Take the tail out of the rad and take it to plumbers merchant to offer up to fittings. Once you have what you need, reattach it to rad valve

Like most radiators it has a 1/2" female connection. The brass nut and tail currently connected will need to be removed and most valves will fit.

I think it's bigger than 1/2" though. Which part do I measure? The outside of the thread on the valve?

If you are wanting to connect a fitting onto the current radiator tail i think the nut is 1 inch bsp. You were on the right track with the previous post. You will need a 1inch male threaded fitting. But you could also just use the valve i suggested as well.
