Not sure if this one goes in decorating and painting or the plastering area.

My walls in the kitchen are currently being skimmed , obviously i have to let them dry for at least a week,

My father in law suggested mixing wall paper glue and water and then slapping it on the walls to seal it (rather than doing 3 coats of paint in which they will soak in )

Has anyone heard of doing it this way?

Is their a better way/suggestions?

thanks

Do not seal with PVA it is water based, and in a humid area like a kitchen it can revert and get tacky.

Use a good quality emulsion paint, thinned by 30 to 40% for your first coat.
Then by 5 to 10% for your second coat.

And CERTAINLY DONT use wallpaper paste..the paint will be off in seconds
