Skimmed walls with PVA (possibly)

I believe the general consensus is that it's not a good idea to use PVA as a sealer on newly skimmed walls.

I have recently had all the walls reskimmed but I cannot get hold of the builder, to ask him whether he used PVA or not. I found a bottle of PVA lying around, which raised my suspicions.

My question is, is there a quick way to determine whether the skimmed walls have been PVAd on? Also if they have, what are my options when it comes to painting?

It is fine for the plasterer to use PVA on the old plaster when applying the new skim plaster.

I very much doubt that he would have gone to the trouble of applying PVA over the new plaster.

An easy way to check is to lick your finger and touch the wall. If the plaster instantly becomes dark, it has nothing on it.
