Hello all,

I have extended my backyard from 3x3 metres to 6x3 metres which I stupidly cast in one sitting. The extended area isnt quite level.

Is there any way at all I can level it out and skim the old section of concrete yard too unify it with the new?

I have tried a wet cement & sharp sand mix but it just flaked off.

I only have 5mm or so to play with due to door openings etc.

I am not sure a self levelling screed compond will be durable enough for a outside yard area.

Thanks in advance - any advice would be great!

5mm is not a great deal to play with, so your struggling.
Your best option could well be breaking it all up and starting again.

Thanks chaps, this is what I was dreading!

I have a couple of emails into Latex added Screed manufacurers to see what external application durabiliy they have.

Only problem is that the original slab is 18 inches thick made with blast furnace slag instead of sand so breaking it down would require explosives.

Do you think roughing both slabs up with a Kango drill to give another 5+mm and then reskimming with a small aggregate might work?
