Skimming dirty drywall

There is drywall which got quite dusty when someone decided to start chopping up slates with an angle grinder in the room. Cheers pal. Anyway. I'm no spread so how much does it matter? I'm guessin it matters cause I can see it, it's not too bad just few black lookin patches.

What are the recommendations? I think best to rub it down with a few microfibre cloths or will it be fine?

I would brush off first, then use a cloth to dust down and
wash with a sponge.
If the walls have been painted they will need prepping with PVA(two coat prep, one the day before and one to go tacky before applying finish) prior to skimming, but any flakey paint should be removed.
