Was skimming a wall yesterday when towards the end got called to my daughters school, so was unable to polish the wall, is it possible to pva and applied another coat and then polish this?

what do you want to do trowel the wall up to a nice finish or give it a polish? if its already troweled up just leave it and paint it theres no need to polish it
