So, I've skimmed a few rooms now. I'm really happy with the results, the walls are pretty even and 99% of the skim is smooth. However, I want to get better. There's the odd blemish, no bigger than a 50p coin, where it is slight indented, maybe a paper width. What would be causing that and how can I stop it from happening?

The way I've been doing it is trowelling the skim on, going over it to flatten it and then putting a second coat of skim on, flattening it when it's started to go off a bit, then coming back and polishing it.

Any advice would be welcome!

heres how i do it.
lay on first, flatten twitch the corners, lay on second coat flatten, twitch corners, cross trowel.
wet trowel, twitch corners cross trowel, seccond wet trowel, then a cross trowel with a plastic trowel to take any fat or water out of corners and just to give a nice consistant finish.
hope that helps
