Hello
I'd ordered the materials but eventually decided against installing a wetroom myself so I've called in the professionals. The floor is NoMorePly TG4 22mm cement construction board. The wetroom former is an Impey Aquadec Easyfit with WaterGuard tanking membrane. On top is loose wire Warm Up UFH. Today the fitters have poured Ultra Tile Pro Level Two Part Floor leveller over it all and it's looking good. But when I came to order more Waterguard for another room I read that SLC should go under the Waterguard not over it. When I queried it with them, they said that's how it's done and in 30 years they've never had a problem.
AI is giving me conflicting answers. It seems commonplace to put SLC over UFH to avoid damage to cables before tiling, but elsewhere I'm reading that the Waterguard material is incompatible with SLC and could delaminate. Is that a real risk?
I'll call Impey in the morning but I was hoping to avoid a sleepless night and wondered if anyone has any experience or advice? Thanks
