Slight damage in armoured cable

Not sure how well you can see it in this picture but noticed that this has a slight nick. Can I tape it up or does the whole length need to be replaced?

Self amalgam tape would be better but not really ideal, the whole run should be replaced.

A few years back someone did an experiment - drilling a hole with a fine drill thru the cable, apparently it ois possible to drill/stake a pin thru such and miss or only lightly come into contact with the armor yet pierce the live conductors inside - SWA is not quite the bees knees of protection in all cases apparently, the results astonished him apparently.

Brill against spades and diggers though!
 
That doesn't look installed and terminated to me.......

I assumed that we could see neither end, because if this is one end:

he wouldn't need to be asking about taping it up, as he'd know he could easily slide a few pieces of heat-shrink over it.
