Hi all, my new shower mixer just turned up and found that both inlets look partially blocked. It seems strange that both inlets are the same so not sure if it's supposed to be. Anyone come across this before?

And on this note.. as the ins and outs are quite big (3/4), would I benefit from running 22mm feeds and out to the 300mm square rain head? Or would it not make any difference from 15mm?

Also... (sorry) would 15mm to the inlets and then 22mm out to the shower head make any difference? Just thinking hot and cold will be on together so would the extra outlet diameter create more pressure/power?

Inlets are normal, part of the construction.
15mm fine to the shower head.
Yes pipe the supply in 22 if you can

Sorry to bump but have a question.

So I'm going to run 22 to the mixer, then was thinking of running 22 to the shower head (300x300 rainfall thing). I can only see a 15x1/2bsp wall plate.

My question is... is there any point of running 22 up into the ceiling if I have to throttle it down to 15mm for the last few inches to then go into the 1/2 wall plate? Would there be any difference in just running the whole upper section in 15?

There is no point in running the supply or the section to the shower head in 22mm.

The flow is restricted by the shower valves inlets, internal waterways, and outlet. It wouldn't make any difference if you used 6 inch diameter pipework.

No. All that will do is increase the standing volume of cold water you need to discharge down the drain at the start of your shower, making it take longer to come hot, and increase the standing volume of hot water left in the pipe at the end of your shower, increasing the amount of hot water you've paid for that is wasted

Perfect example of how a lot of these generic budget parts are now all made in the far east. Casting blank quality etc isn't the best and neither is the finishing. They then find their way into the mainstream production processes. I had to send 2 concealed taps back recent, from a well known brand name, because the 1/2" inlet tappings were shocking, the 1/2" supply coupler just wouldn't fit properly. Really terrible quality.

a lot of these manufacturers supply a lot of the well known brand's budget ware these days
