Hi all, the wife has bought a slim shower tray, my questions are as it had no instructions, we have wooden floor boards and I am thinking of putting a marine type ply screwed to existing floor only under the tray, and what will be the best way of bedding the tray in, gripfill, sand and cement or something else, thanks for your time!!!

Slim? I guess you mean low profile?

I wouldn't bother with marine ply, just use standard. It shouldn't get wet, and if it does you will be removing it anyway!

I would level using a powder tile adhesive, to get a nice even spread, so all parts of the tray are fully supported.
