Hi,

I am rubbish (I mean lacking experience, rather than actually bad) when it comes to DIY, but really want to see if I can do this myself.

I've watched some Youtube videos, which look like the fix would be fairly easy, but unfrotunately, the examples have all been quite different toilets to this one. Could someone assist with how to take apart this fill valve to clean/replace?

Thanks

Hopefully we can help, but it helps us if we know the make/model or have a photo of the valve in question. I know my crystal ball is out for polishing again.

Sorry, forgot the pic. It's a Sonas toilet.

Looks like a siamp fill valve, common problem on these. Should be possible as a DIY fix. Obtain the fill valve washer, isolate the cistern filling and unscrew large white nut to reveal the existing washer exchange for the new one, redo the large nut making sure you don't cross thread and make sure the 2 lugs are sat correctly and reintroduce slowly the water.

Thanks all - do you know whcih diaphram/washer it would likely be, or do I need to open it up to check, and put it back whilst I obtain the spare, then replace it?

Unfrortunately, there is no isolation for the toilet, so would have to isolate water for the whole house to do this!

Finally got round to sorting this the other day... Wow, it was even easier than I had expected!

Thanks all for your help!
