Hi Folks

I re tiled our kitchen and removed the toilet to tile under it. On conecting the water feed back on to the cistern (Bottom of tank) there is a slow drip from the nut that seals the pipe to the float valve. THe rubber washer appears to be inside the tank. Tightening the nut has not stopped it.

I think the feed pipe is twisting the pipe to the float valve, as with water in the tank there no leak!! The threads seal fine its just the leak from the tank that is a problem. I extended the feed pipe to allow for the new floor height, but cannot re do this a the pipe is boxed in and tiled!

People have suggested putting sillicone sealant under the rubber washer in the tank, or even bosswhite or plumbers mait.

Any ideas or sugggestions. Don't want to keep tightening the nut as pretty tight allready.

Many thanks

I would guarantee that by removing the ball valve, drying everything off and applying a generous application of silicone to the washer and between the washer and the bottom of the ball valve will sort the leak.
