Hi,

I have an Ideal Isar combi (think it's a m30100), except it isn't all that ideal.

The hot water runs very slowly and can take almost an hour to fill the bath.

I understand that I cannot have any sort of pump attached?.

What could it be/what can I do ?

Cheers

How long has it been like that?
How good is your cold pressure and flow? Time how long it takes to fill a std bucket.

I've only been in my house about 4 months and it's been like it from the start (my first house and I foolishly didn't check).

Cold water to the taps is at rocket speed, but to fill a std bucket from the hot, i'd say about 5 mins ... maybe more.

I will confirm later.

is the poor flow with the hot tap wide open? or are you turning the tap down so that the water is hot enough, and finding that it's then that the flow is crap?

is the poor flow with the hot tap wide open?

Yep .... once it's on it's pretty much at full flow. :(

I can open it up as much as I want after that .... makes no difference tho.

Small washing up bowl (no std bucket sorry) in 5 mins

1ltr in 35 seconds

So i'm getting less than 2ltr a min ... surely this can't be right ?

3rd from the right, in 15mm. The coin slot in the left side of the brass fitting is access to a filter. Turn off you cold water (and boiler) and open it, check filter isn't full of scuzz & crud.

Shut the valve first right ?

Hmmm .... didn't see any crap at all, but no filter to speak of either.

look for cold water inlet valve on boiler (prob a slot head) and turn it up.
The valve seems fully open.

Anyone got any other ideas ... or should I just stop grumbling and start running the bath now, for Sunday. :?
