I have a small flat roof which needs redoing. Has hardly any fall and water soaks into the wall as a result. It's small, just a porch.

So, I'm happy with refitting everything and putting a fall on.

My question, is are there any nice guides for laying felt?

I'd go EPDM if it were bigger, but the kits look expensive for the small section I'll be doing.

Thanks.

If it's only a small job why don't you get a professional in to do a proper job with a solid guarantee to give you a good 20 years roof life.

If its a small area and you are using torch on felt then a small hand held gas torch will do it.

You're probably missing the point of my question and this forum. There's no reason without the right advise why I couldn't do this. I'm capable, just not too proud to seek some advice and tips.

As a hint as to how stupid I'm not, I recently renewed underslating on a pitched roof.

I think you are the one missing the point of a public forum.

Great! Guess what, I've been in the trade 32 years and have replaced countless pitched roofs (complete) but have never attempted or wished to attempt a hot pour flat roof. Ho hum.

Some things are for diy'ers and others are better avoided. EPDM is probably the most accessible system (skill wise) for the diy market.

Someone put a link on recently to a book on amazon about torch on felt roofing if thats what you were planning to do.
