small leak seales itself over time?

I think I have heard if a compersion fitting or something similar has a small leak on it it may seal it self over time. Is there any truth in this thanks.
 
Yeah the lime scale and green mould you see. Very unsightly, sort it out while you can now.
 
No, the leak will not seal itself. It might get blocked with limescale or debris, but any time it moves for any reason, e.g. vibration, temperature expansion/contraction, it can start to leak again.
It is like a nail in a tire; just because the tire is not flat now, it doesn't mean it is reliable.
