Small mirror with wood block stuck on.

Hi, As above, I have been given several small mirrors - 30 cm dia - in packaging and each has a small wooden block stuck on to prevent damage in transit. The adhesive is very firm and I fear breaking the mirrors with excessive pressure: does anyone have experience of this type of product and the best method of breaking the bond wihout breaking the mirrors ? I have no idea how long these items have been packaged - could be long time.

Got any WD 40? That will melt stinky stuff.
Multi solve is similar or sticky stuff remover in a spray can.
None will damage the mirror
