we have a Georgian house with a Victorian extension. I have spent the weekend taking down a stone and brick alcove that was built to one side of the chimney breast.
however once I have removed all the masonry, there is no floor. the rest of the room has a solid concrete floor, which I assume has no insulation and I don't know if it has a dpm.
it is only about 1m2. should I put down a dpm and then just concrete over. as it is such small area do I need to excavate far, or just put down some concrete on a polythene layer.
any help greatly appreciated!!
