hi there folks,

I'm looking for advice on building a small wall in the garden. the garden is almost level. its to separate the two front gardens if you get me.

the wall will be 12m long and has 1 90 degree turn. double skinned and a slab type coping and 4 bricks high.

I feel as if I could manage it, but working out how/what cement I need etc is holding me back.

can you buy ready mix footing cement and how many bags would I need. so many questions.

any help or information on the questions below would be great.

how much cement/mortar for the job
tools
footing width/depth and what cement
how to keep the wall level
how much mortar between bricks

thanks for your help.

how deep do you plan to dig the footings? for a 12m wall. i'd reckon about 4m2 of footing depending on depth/width. so roughly 300-350 wide by the same depth. though you could get away with less. for mortar maybe 3-5bags

That's the garden there. Not the best of lines, but it would go round the tree and replace that grey kerb.

Have you considered a fence or small trees? Also given the age of the house, have you checked covenants not to do what you are planning. You have a challenge with the footings around the lamp post
