Big tiles work best in a small area I think. I've just done 2 walls of my tiny bathroom (150 x 160cm) with 25cm x 33cm tiles in brick formation, and am very happy with the result !
All the best,
Mark

I would even go smaller like 1"x 1" tiles for a small area, may give a bigger feel as there are loads of more tiles.
