Smaller alternative to engineering bricks for DPC?

We have 2 courses of engineering bricks making up the above-ground DPC for a new extension.

A set of bifolds will be installed and I could do to drop these down the external brickwork a bit. Removing a whole course of DPC would be too big a drop, and it seems that shaving approx 30mm off the top of engineering bricks is not a simple task to get right.

Is there anything that would go in place of the 2nd course of DPC brickwork that could give a more controllable height, while doing the same job?

Use a course of brick on edge 110mm including bed should work ok (use half bricks 100mm side up).

Those bricks are not a DPC.

You could use half bricks on end, but it depends if this will look like a designed feature of the extension or an made up afterthought.

If the latter, cut the bricks to the required size and lay them to match the rest of the wall.

2 courses of engineering bricks or slates as a DPC are allowed here, although they are rarely used unless to match the existing. However if you use a brick on edge it's not really 2 courses.
