Smeg dwi 409 c dishwasher not working

Hi,

I have the above dishwasher and when i turn it on, select a program and shut the door instead of starting its cycle it beeps a couple of times and makes a vibrating noise but nothing happens and i can open the door. Does anyone know how to fix this please?
